The weirdest hair style I’ve ever seen is a girl with half her head shaved! The other half was dyed pink! It was covered in gel and put into a spike, Mohawk style. She thought it was cool! But it really wasn’t. Her hair just looked UGLY. She should’ve gotten a different, better looking hairstyle

One thing I want to do before I finish the 8th grade is I want to take a huge field trip with my school that way I can remember this year for the rest of my life, and I can tell people when I get older how great it was to go to Peninsula K-8 grade School.

Parents should be honest to their kids because parents always tell you to be honest and not to lie but they still do it. I think parents should not lie to their kids because the kids can notice and get really upset to find out that their parents are being hypocrites. Parents shouldn’t lie because the kids can do the same

I’d like to go back to a place that is hot in the summer, but cold in the winter. It’s called Oklahoma. Yes it’s the country. I’d like to go back to running into the fields and catching turtles when it rains, feeling the warm wind hit my face when I’m running. I miss my family and wish I could be there.

Darkness Everywhere

Darkness everywhere. My nostrils aflame and my mouth gasping for air. I push, push, push myself to reach the surface. To breathe. To live. I cannot…My legs going numb. My arms failing me. My eyelids flutter. Something tugs at my arm. Some creature looking for a snack no doubt. Something pulls me up, up, up until I burst forth from the dark bottomless abyss. “ We got her , we got her!” I gasp in gulps of air as someone covers me with something soft that warms me up immediately. I manage to open my eyes and recognize my dad though my sight is still blurry. He holds me in his arms and I feel warm tears dropping on my cheeks. They are not mine. They are his. “ will she live?” The other person I cannot make out because my vision is fuzzy replies. “ yes but she will most likely not have her arm.”
“ Somebody should do something about these shark attacks. They are increasing by the second.” I blink a few times and then look down at my arm….or what is now left of my arm. A stump of flesh and blood. Pulsing and stinging. I will never go to the ocean again. I got lucky.

"I have advocated for 30 years that, in order to preserve our democracy and protect ourselves against demagogues,we should have courses in schools on how to watch TV, how to read newspapers, how to analyze a speech – how to understand the limitations of
each medium and make a judgment as to the accuracy or the motives involved."

A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting. ~Henry David Thoreau
